The Joker asked:
DRM was put there to prevent piracy, so why has it been removed? Aren’t they worried about people illegally sharing the songs?

Because apple sucks, and pirates are going to take over the world. Apple knows they cant do shit to prevent anything.
Well, people hate DRM. It’s really no surprise here. If people want free music to share then they’ll get it. Free shared music is so easily accessed that DRM is just a waste of everyone’s time. How is DRM stopping you, me, or anyone else from downloading DRM free music? It’s not because that person that wants to download DRM free music doesn’t go to itunes to download it because it has DRM. If they’re willing to do the right thing and pay for it then chances are they probably won’t even share it but they would like to do what ever they want with something they should own. DRM is just making the wrong people suffer and making people NOT want to pay for it hence them downloading it the other way. It’s the same with games. I brought it so I should be able to do what ever the hell I want with it.
When ever I read reviews that involve a device that will allow you to download music I always see reviewers praising DRM free music. I think Apple is finally realizing.
Well in trying to prevent piracy, Apple opened a can of worms that created a lot of ill-will amongst their loyal and faithful following. One you purchased something from ITunes you should be able to put it on any portable device you want and burn it to a disk. Apple’s DMR prevented that by telling you how many times you could transfer a song and how many times you could burn it to disk. The mew DMR free apple might give them a piracy headache of one form or another, but I’ll bet good money that once word gets out about DMR being lifted Apple will get even more good will and even new ITunes users.
