these formats and sampling rates and bit rates are what my player can handle it is only a 4GB player and my whole collection will not fit on it in LPCM obviously.

ok my dad suddenly is unable to play his wma files on windows media player and get this error message “C00D1199: Cannot play the file” which means the files are not supported or was compressed using a codec not supported by windows media player????
arent .wma files FROM windows media player??

anyway those files were ripped from his CDs a very long time ago and he could play them with WMP too. recently the comp was formatted and he was unable to play the files, with the error message as above.

it doesnt make sense, if it was copy righted, he was able to play it previously but now he couldnt! moreover, those CDs were bought at least 10 over years go (Beatles oldies and etc classics). i dont think they were encoded with DRM yet right?

anyone has any suggestions what gives?
thanks
Hi got a match?

that tab only lets u set default player for those file types to be WMP, meaning when u double click on those file types it will automatically play on WMP. and anyway the box for .wma files is already checked. and the files still cant be played
